Born, raised and educated in London, my first experience in music production began as a child in my uncle's studio. He had his own label and was a producer for local acts, achieving modest success. That was my catalyst.
After several years of working as an in-house producer for his label, I decided that it'd benefit me to work - in any capacity - alongside other seasoned and successful producers.
Subsequently, I got in touch with Tony Visconti and offered my free services! Unfortunately for me, his studio was overstaffed with assistants. His advice to me was to apply to the "oldest studios" in London and garner as much knowledge from the experience as possible (if I should get the gig!).
I was lucky enough to acquire employment by one of Europe's top recording studios, where I got to work and mingle with "superstar" artists and record company moguls alike. I was an assistant, a runner, a receptionist ... and I loved every moment of it. I later met Tony Visconti on a Morrissey session and told him I heeded his advice, for which he seemed pleased!
At that same time, I was a freelance producer working mostly with independent labels and artists, honing my skills and craftsmanship.
A few years later, I moved to New York City, where I focused on developing a catalog of backing tracks with lyrics ...
which continues today in my permanent home in Los Angeles.
